Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on farm machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and tillage equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work to repair or modify equipment as needed.
- Service heavy construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, loaders, and bulldozers to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory for all equipment serviced.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during troubleshooting or testing procedures to verify repairs.
- Assist with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications to ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards and warranty requirements.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, construction equipment, and industrial systems.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, and diesel engine repair.
- Skilled in fabricating using hand tools, welding equipment, and power tools for custom repairs or modifications.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical systems and mechanical components.
- Experience with excavator operation, crane servicing, forklift maintenance, tire service, HVAC systems, air brake systems, suspension alignment, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Knowledge of OEM parts specifications for Caterpillar or similar brands; familiarity with construction machinery servicing is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.
