Now Hiring 2nd Shift Extrusion Operators in the Springdale Area!
Shift: 2nd, 6:45am-7:00pm (rotating shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule)
Rate: $25.50-$27.50 per hour (based on experience)
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor extrusion machinery, including plastics extrusion systems, robotic systems, and auxiliary equipment during the second shift.
- Perform routine inspections of extruded products using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Adjust machine settings based on quality inspection results and engineering troubleshooting guidelines to maintain optimal production output.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process, identifying defects or deviations from specifications and implementing corrective actions.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently using forklifts and other warehouse equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate production records, including measurements, machine logs, and quality documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Assist with fabrication tasks such as press brake operations or CNC machining when required to support manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with industrial equipment, including CNC lathes, CNC machines, and plastics injection molding or blow molding machinery.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for process automation control.
- Experience with plastics blow molding, injection molding, and extrusion processes within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments for quality inspection.
- Familiarity with hand tools, fabrication techniques, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Knowledge of safety protocols specific to manufacturing environments involving heavy machinery and plastics processing.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and production metrics accurately.
- Experience with robotic systems used in manufacturing automation is a plus.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles aimed at improving efficiency and reducing waste.
- Ability to read technical drawings or schematics related to machine operation or fabrication tasks.
