Job Position: PAYROLL AND A/P CLERK
Location: CALHOUN, TN 37309
Pay Rate: $16-$20/hour DOE
PAYROLL AND A/P CLERK POSITION SUMMARY: This position is a critical contributor to the financial health of the company by providing critical payroll and human resource assistant functions for the company’s labor pool. The position will also perform accounts payable functions by loading vendor billing into QuickBooks and ensuring proper payment procedures, support and cooperate with other office staff by providing general office administration, receiving visitors, telephone answering, responding to email correspondence timely and providing clerical support to project management staff and others as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE PAYROLL AND A/P CLERK:
Processing of payroll by end of day every Tuesday. Includes collection of timesheets through pay and includes accuracy of all reporting
Accounts Payable: Data entry of all account’s payables from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors in a timely and effective manner for the company. Coordination with other employees is a critical aspect of this job. Obtaining W-9’s and Insurance Certificates.
Timely response to emails copying team members who need to be informed. File and correspond accordingly. Respond to all emails requiring action or an affirmative response to acknowledge receipt.
Prepare union reports monthly
Government and insurance reporting
Alert controller of any discrepancies or potential concerns
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files
General clerical support to staff
Keep work area, office and common areas clean
Other duties as assigned
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL?
Working knowledge of QuickBooks
Being highly Organized, Accurate and Detail oriented
Having fabulous data entry skills (WPM and 10 Key)
Ability to work with with and relate effectively to people at all levels and departments in the company
Communicating clearly and effectively in routine and stressful situations
Able to analyze problems, discern discrepancies and be able to resolve all issues.
