Job Summary
The Clinical Support position plays a vital role in supporting nursing operations and resident care services. This position coordinates nursing staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts and maintains staffing schedules based on census changes, call-ins, and planned leaves of absence.
In addition to staffing coordination, the Clinical Support team member assists with resident admissions, medical records management, clinical audits, appointment scheduling, transportation arrangements, family visit coordination, and various administrative and clerical functions. The position works closely with nursing leadership to support resident care, regulatory compliance, documentation management, and overall facility operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate nursing staff schedules and assist with filling open shifts.
- Publish and maintain monthly staff schedules.
- Communicate with employees regarding scheduling needs and coverage requests.
- Maintain attendance records and scheduling documentation.
- Assist with resident admissions, including chart preparation and room readiness.
- Maintain and organize resident medical records and filing systems.
- Conduct routine audits of resident charts, medication records, and clinical documentation.
- Track immunizations, annual assessments, physician orders, and other required resident records.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, transportation arrangements, and family visits.
- Prepare and distribute resident documentation and reports as needed.
- Assist with medication refill requests, laboratory requisitions, and follow-up.
- Monitor nursing supplies and check for expired items.
- Conduct room and equipment audits to ensure resident safety and comfort.
- Answer phones and provide professional customer service to residents, families, staff, and visitors.
- Support survey readiness and quality assurance activities.
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, faxing, copying, scanning, and data entry.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and employee information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule
Full-Time: 40 hours per week | Monday through Friday | Day Shift

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Nurse Aide certification highly preferred
- Previous experience in a health care setting preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software applications
- Strong interpersonal communication skills verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated use of team approach in the work environment
- Clerical proficiency related to organization and attention to detail
- Proficiency in multi-tasking
- 2 Step TB clearance or Chest X-Ray (with proof of positive results)
- Employment Physical (within the last 12 months)
