BARTENDERBartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. The bartender position involves significant responsibility. It requires accountability in the areas of cash handling, inventory control, organization, and facility cleanliness above and beyond many other hourly positions. The bar is often a focal point for our restaurants, and accordingly bartenders must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining confidence, composure and a great eye for detail. Responsibilities
Utilize high quality spirits, liqueurs, fruits, fresh herbs and spices to create sensational drinks for guestsGreet guests, take beverage orders from the restaurant servers or directly from guestsMix drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with company standardsMaintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beveragesProvide information on wine characteristics, evaluate guests needs, make appropriate suggestions and serve wine using proper wine service techniquesWork with culinary team to create mixers and garnishes for beveragesCheck identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcoholHandle an assigned bank and follow all cash handling proceduresCollect payment for drinks served and balance all receiptsEnsure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests, prepare inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish suppliesServe food items to guests seated at the barDemonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotionsMaintain a clean working area by sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning of glass doors and windows, etc. as neededKeep work area clean and organizedAttend mandatory meetingsPerform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.Complete other duties as assigned by supervisorThorough product knowledge, including all food and bar menus, wine, well spirits, back bar spirits, cordials, beer, dessert wines, and specialty cocktails. Ability to recommend, compare and contrast all bar products, as well as discuss ingredients, recipes and preparation alternatives. Demonstrate excellent salesmanship skills. Attain a thorough working knowledge of the P.O.S. register system and accurately communicate all orders to the Kitchen in a timely manner. Responsible for encouraging bar dining, resetting and preparing bar area for new guests. Effectively communicate with guests through prompt greetings and regular check-backs. Identify and solve any problems related to guest dissatisfaction and complaints. Responsible for immediately accounting for all products sold, and for all guest payment transactions including cash, credit card, promos, discounts and discount calculations. Responsible for completing all assigned side work, opening/closing duties, duration duties, and weekly cleaning projects. Maintain highest possible levels of cleanliness and organization within bar area and throughout the restaurant. Assist all other employees, whenever possible, with any tasks necessary for smooth, effective restaurant operation. Perform any task deemed necessary by managers for complete guest satisfaction. Responsible for building a regular clientele by generating fun and excitement through your personality, positive attitude, and guest name/face recognition. Execute bar transfers upon guest request promptly and enthusiastically. Responsible for stocking the bar to established pars both prior to, and at the completion of all shifts. Responsible for stocking all bar deliveries while maintaining clean and organized storage areas. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
