Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Shift Manager to join our team in the restaurant industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of restaurant operations and possess strong leadership skills to oversee daily activities efficiently. The position requires that this person be available to work different shifts which include early mornings, days, and early evening shifts. The shift manager will also be required to work weekends and certain holidays.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for organizing shift schedules for team members.
· Assigns team members with tasks to be completed each shift.
· Resolves problems and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
· Supervises employees and assists with tasks as necessary.
· Monitors attendance, punctuality, and time off.
· Provides input for performance reviews and shares feedback with store supervisor.
· Manages employees’ requests such as vacation, leave of absence, and time off requests.
· Coordinates training of new and current team members on tasks.
· Handles customer issues and manages conflicts.
· Adheres to company policies and health, safety, and employment standards.
· Balances cash drawers and prepares cash deposits daily.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Associate of Bachelor’s degree in restaurant management preferred but not required.
· Industry experience, preferably in a managerial position.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong leadership skills, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
· Minimum of 1 to 2 years of previous restaurant experience
· Previous experience working as a team lead in either a kitchen or cashier capacity, restaurant manager, or similar role.
· Proven customer service experience as well as doing all the work the employees are responsible for to be able to step in and work in the absence of employees.
· Must be bilingual; English/Spanish; read, speak, and write fluently
