Requirements & Qualifications:

5–10 years of hands-on HVAC/R experience
-
EPA Universal Certification (required)
-
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
-
MA Refrigeration License (preferred)

OSHA 10 certification
-
Strong electrical knowledge related to HVAC/R systems and controls

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints

Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation

Must Haves:
-
Diagnose and repair complex refrigeration systems including ice machines and walk-in/freezer units under varying load conditions

Perform system startups and verify control sequences on RTUs, split systems, and make-up air units
-
Troubleshoot and recalibrate control systems to ensure proper airflow, temperature, and humidity balance
-
Coordinate with dispatch and customers to prioritize emergency service calls effectively
-
Document service activity digitally using tablets or mobile devices in real time

Support shop operations such as inventory handling, shipping/receiving, and occasional administrative follow-ups

Maintain service vehicle readiness, including tool organization and parts tracking
Preferred Background & Skills:

Experience working with smart HVAC controls and building automation systems

Familiarity with Android-based service platforms and field software

Strong customer communication and relationship-building skills

Experience in commercial or industrial service environments

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple service calls

Prior experience mentoring junior technicians or apprentice
