Overview
We are looking for a friendly and energetic Deli Host to join our team. As a Deli Host, you will often be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service while assisting with seating guests, packing take out orders, sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Duties
- Greet guests warmly and seat them
- Assist guests with their food orders at the deli counter.
- Prepare and assemble bakery items according to established standards, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Operate POS system to process retail sales transactions accurately.
- Manage cash register operations, including processing cash, credit card payments, and giving correct change.
- Maintain a clean workspace by sanitizing surfaces, organizing products, and adhering to food safety standards.
- Operate any applicable equipment safely for food handling and preparation tasks while following sanitation protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about menu items, dietary options, and store policies.
- Assist in inventory management by restocking deli items and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure quick service and smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, retail sales, or quick-service restaurants is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills is required
- An approachable attitude toward guests and team members is required
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for processing payments and managing register operations efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience working in a café or deli setting is advantageous.
