Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities and those in need of personal care. Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide support in meal preparation and cooking, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Monitor and document patient observations, reporting any changes in condition or behavior to the appropriate staff.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by adhering to resident rights and maintaining a respectful environment.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs within the group home setting.
- Implement memory care techniques for residents experiencing cognitive challenges.
- Provide first aid and CPR as needed, ensuring a safe environment for all individuals under care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities is essential.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Strong observational skills to monitor changes in resident behavior or health status.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to work independently when required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
