Behnke Dedicated is a large trucking Fleet based out of Battle Creek, MI. We are in search of a full-time, hardworking, and reliable diesel mechanic to work at our in-house shop to work as a Heavy Duty Truck Technician. Here at Behnke Dedicated we pride ourselves in maintaining a large, growing fleet of trucks to a higher standard with a focus on preventative maintenance.
Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:
-Maintain Tractors, Trailers and other Power units in our fleet. The primary fleet consists of Freightliner's with Detroit Diesel engines. The trailers are primarily 53 ft dry vans
-Perform daily inspections on equipment to keep our fleet in good working order.
-Be able to identify and repair worn or damaged components that may impede the safe operation of the vehicle.
-Be able to diagnose discrepancies in house or remotely as needed.
-Keep proper records of parts and labor spent on specific projects.
-Be able to work independently on repairs diagnosed in the shop.
-Perform State and / or Federally mandated inspection to keep fleet in compliance.
- Maintain shop equipment operation by following instruction and with use of knowledge of the industry.
- Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting owner ship of daily activities.
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
-comfortable with working in all weather conditions
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ownership of own tools (specialty tools to be provided as needed)
-Strong work ethic and reliable transportation.
-Knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities with Detroit Diesel Engine ranging from EPA 98 Series 60 To GHG 21 DD
-Ability to operate DDDL and other computer based tools for diagnostics
-Avid problem solver
