American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring 2 years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

13-week contract at a 286-bed acute care hospital

Med/Surg Telemetry unit

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
-
Patient ratio of 1:5–6
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call required

Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required

Charts in Epic
-
Active SC RN license or compact license; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license active prior to start

Current AHA certifications: BLS (required), ACLS (required), NIH Stroke Scale (preferred)
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
Telemetry competency required
-
Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Community hospital experience preferred
-
SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Level III Trauma facility

Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment

Royal blue scrubs required

Candidates who have been permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, and local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
