Responsibilities
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales and handle cash, credit, or mobile payments with confidence.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and guiding them through product selections.
- Conduct product demos to showcase new items and promote special offers or upselling opportunities.
- Maintain store appearance by merchandising products attractively and stocking shelves efficiently.
- Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, organizing stockroom areas, and assisting with regular stock replenishments.
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Assist with cashiering duties during busy periods, ensuring quick and accurate transactions while maintaining a friendly demeanor.
Requirements
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for handling transactions accurately.
- Strong communication skills to engage with diverse customers bilingually or multilingual is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for cash handling and sales totals.
- Experience supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stocking, and product demos enhances your fit for this role.
