Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Roofer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Responsibilities
- Install a variety of roofing materials including shingles, metal panels, tiles, and flat roof systems according to project specifications and blueprints
- Repair and replace damaged or aging roofing components to extend the lifespan of structures
- Use hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and screwdrivers as well as power tools including drills, saws, and nail guns to complete roofing tasks efficiently
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation and repair work
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely on construction sites while adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct surface preparation activities like caulking, flashing installation, and trim carpentry to ensure watertight seals
- Assist with other construction tasks such as framing, masonry work, or restoration projects when needed to support team efforts
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on roofing projects
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and blueprint reading
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding setup, and safety procedures on active job sites
- Knowledge of roofing systems including metal stud framing, stucco application, tile laying, and waterproofing techniques
- Background in related trades such as carpentry (including trim carpentry), masonry, plumbing, or welding is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Prior handyman experience or involvement in remodeling or restoration projects is a plus
