Position Overview
ATEX Distributing is seeking a seasoned Outside Sales Representative with a strong background in HVAC distribution to drive growth across a multi-state commercial territory.
This role is focused on developing and expanding relationships with mechanical contractors, OEM partners, and commercial accounts. The ideal candidate is a proven producer with an established network, strong product knowledge, and the ability to generate new business while managing key accounts.
This is a high-travel, high-impact role for someone who thrives in the field and understands how to win in a competitive HVAC distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow relationships with mechanical contractors and commercial accounts
- Identify and close new business opportunities across assigned territory
- Actively prospect and build pipeline (cold calls, jobsite visits, referrals)
- Manage pricing, quoting, and project opportunities
- Maintain strong coordination with inside sales and operations teams
- Represent ATEX in the field with professionalism and urgency
- Track pipeline and sales activity in CRM (NetSuite)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HVAC distribution sales experience (required)
- Current industry experience and active in the market.
- Preference given to candidates demonstrating tenure, career progression, and a commitment to long-term professional growth.
- Proven track record of managing a territory and growing revenue
- Established relationships with mechanical contractors and commercial customers
- Strong understanding of HVAC equipment (RTUs, splits, IAQ, etc.)
- Self-starter with a hunter mentality
- Comfortable working independently in a high-travel role (75%+)
- CRM experience preferred (NetSuite a plus)
- Valid driver’s license
