Job Summary We are seeking experienced Equipment Operators to join our team for an upcoming solar farm construction project. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy construction equipment in support of site preparation, underground utility installation, and general earthwork activities. What You'll Do
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, backhoes, and trenching machines
- Perform trenching operations for underground conduit, cable, and utility installation
- Conduct backfill and compaction operations to meet project specifications
- Move and position equipment safely around an active construction site
- Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials as needed
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections and basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
- Work closely with ground crews, grade checkers, and site supervisors to meet project timelines
- Follow all OSHA safety requirements, site-specific safety plans, and company policies
- Maintain accurate daily logs of equipment hours and work completed
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience operating construction equipment
- Experience with trenching, excavation, backfill, and compaction
- Ability to read and interpret grade stakes and basic site plans
- Valid driver's license; CDL a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with underground utility or electrical installation projects
- Familiarity with equipment transport and rigging
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience operating a variety of machine types (excavator, dozer, skid steer, trencher)
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
