House Manager – Recovery Residence
Position Summary
The House Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a recovery house and maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive living environment for residents in recovery. The House Manager ensures house rules are followed, supports residents with accountability and resources, coordinates household operations, and helps promote a positive recovery-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the recovery house
- Enforce house rules, curfews, and program expectations consistently and professionally
- Conduct resident check-ins and provide peer support and encouragement
- Monitor resident attendance at meetings, counseling sessions, employment, or treatment requirements
- Perform or coordinate drug/alcohol screenings when required
- Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and resident records
- Coordinate resident move-ins, orientations, and move-outs
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization of the home
- Manage household supplies, chores, and maintenance requests
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, conflicts, or crisis situations
- Communicate with treatment providers, probation officers, case managers, or community resources as needed
- Support a respectful, recovery-centered environment for all residents
- Assist residents with goal setting, life skills, and community resources when appropriate
