The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates, develops, and implements individualized treatment plans for patients with communication, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders. Working collaboratively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members, the SLP helps maximize patient safety, independence, and quality of life. Opportunities are available in Home Care, Inpatient, Outpatient, Skilled Nursing, and Assisted Living settings.
Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive speech-language evaluations and develop patient-centered plans of care.

Provide treatment for speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders while monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.

Educate patients and caregivers on treatment goals, safety precautions, and therapeutic strategies.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support successful care transitions.

Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

Maintain compliance with licensing, continuing education, safety, and infection control requirements.
Required
-
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Current Connecticut Speech-Language Pathology License (or eligibility under a Supervised Professional Experience Plan).

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or approved Clinical Fellowship Plan.

Current BLS certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire, depending on facility requirements).
Preferred

Previous Speech Language Pathologist experience.

Clinical Doctorate (SLPD) or PhD in Speech-Language Pathology.
