Responsibilities Include:
- Develop creative programs and activities for children with developmental disabilities in order to improve social and cognitive functions
- Encourage the child’s participation in in goal-orientated activities
- Work closely with families to provide information and skills necessary to enhance the development of the child
- Work with families and other service providers to achieve a child’s IFSP or EIP goals
- Provide services in home, school-based and daycare centers
- Maintain regular progress reports and attend meetings related to the child
Requirements:
- Certified in New York State as a Teacher of:
- Students with Disabilities Birth-2
OR
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Good technical skills and the ability to learn new databases
Preferred:
- Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Instruction preferred but will train
- Experience working in home-based programs, schools or daycares
