The Bistro at Childress Vineyards is seeking a polished, professional, and team-oriented Host / Food Runner to support both the guest arrival experience and dining room service. This dual-role position plays a key part in delivering a seamless, elevated dining experience—from the moment guests arrive to the timely delivery of their meals.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and enjoys both direct guest interaction and behind-the-scenes service support.

Provide a warm, professional welcome to all guests, creating a positive and lasting first impression

Manage seating and table flow efficiently while balancing guest preferences and server rotation

Escort guests to tables, present menus, and ensure a smooth handoff to service staff

Maintain and manage waitlists, accurately quoting and updating wait times

Answer phones, assist with reservations, and respond to guest inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and communicate menu features, specials, and winery offerings

Support servers by running food at certain times

Deliver food quickly, accurately, and with proper presentation standards

Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams to ensure efficient ticket flow

Ensure correct food delivery, including accommodating modifications and special requests

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking of service stations and dining areas
-
Collaborate with frontofhouse and backofhouse teams to ensure smooth daily operations

Monitor and clean dining room, lobby, and restroom areas to uphold cleanliness and presentation standards

Assist with togo orders and basic payment processing as needed

Adapt between host and food runner responsibilities based on business needs

Consistently uphold Childress Vineyards’ standards of hospitality, professionalism, and service excellence

Positive, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fastpaced environment

Previous restaurant, hosting, or food running experience preferred

Availability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings

Must be able to successfully complete a background check and drug screening

Must be at least 18 years of age

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to and including the duration of a full shift

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 45 pounds on a regular basis

Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions

Ability to safely and efficiently navigate a fastpaced, crowded dining environment

Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings, including exposure to varying temperatures and kitchen heat

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members
