We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide Occupational Therapy services to 2 wonderful patients in their home in Middle Village, Queens. This is a unique opportunity to work one -on- one with a lovely husband and wife in a comfortable home setting while helping them improve their functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.
Schedule: 1-2 visits a week for 35-45 weeks per year
visit length: approximately 3-3.15 hours per visit
perform skilled interventions under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist:
*perform and guide patients through: Therapeutic exercises; neuromuscular reeducation; therapeutic activities focused on functional goals; manual therapy techniques as appropriate within the scope of practice; help patients improve strength, coordination, mobility, safety, and independence with daily activities.
* document treatment accurately and communicate with supervising Occupational Therapist during and after each treatment session.
*Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and the principles of occupational therapy.
- Proven experience working with individuals with neurologic disorders, Orthopaedic injuries or disorders,or age-related conditions in outpatient/home health settings.
- Ability to perform manual therapy: soft tissue mobilization; edema management and myofacial techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients of older populaton and backgrounds as well as healthcare team members and caregivers.
- Knowledge of care documentation standards and the importance of accurate record keeping for quality assurance and legal compliance.
- Competence in using treatment plan implementation strategies tailored to individual client needs.
Pay: $47.00 - $50.00 per hour
