We are a growing custom cabinetry company in Denver seeking a hands-on Assistant Operations Manager. This role supports daily shop operations using Mozaik, spreadsheets, and strong building processes. As the company expands, there is significant room for growth in all areas.
Core Responsibilities
Production & Operations
- Oversee production workflow: Plan, schedule, and monitor daily activities to move custom cabinets efficiently from design/drawings through fabrication, assembly, finishing, and shipping.
- Ensure quality control by meeting design specs, craftsmanship standards, and client expectations; troubleshoot fit/finish and material issues.
Team Leadership
- Supervise cabinet assemblers, finishers, and CNC operators — including task assignment, attendance tracking, performance reviews, training, and disciplinary actions.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and stepping in for the Operations Manager as needed.
Inventory, Maintenance & Resources
- Track and order raw materials (wood, hardware, finishes) to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Request and oversee shop equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
Technical & Process Focus
- Utilize Mozaik for design, nesting, CNC programming, and workflow optimization.
- Maintain detailed spreadsheets for scheduling, tracking, and inventory.
- Refine building processes and SOPs.
- Mechanically, electrically, and chemically troubleshoot issues; apply strong background in manufacturing maintenance and wood finishing.
Safety, Compliance & Support
- Enforce safety protocols, OSHA compliance, and maintain a clean shop environment.
- Assist with reporting, budgeting, project handoffs between sales/design/production/installation, and client/contractor communications.
- Drive process improvements for efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications
- 7+ years in custom cabinetry/woodworking manufacturing.
- Proven experience in manufacturing maintenance and wood finishing.
- Proficiency in Mozaik OR G-Code/Cabinetry Engineering and Excel/spreadsheets.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and chemical problem-solving skills.
- Solid leadership and organizational abilities.
Pay: $33.00 - $39.00 per hour
