Paraeducator - Preschool The Paraeducator will work in the preschool classroom under the guidance of the Preschool Lead Paraeducator. This position supports classroom activities, assists with instruction, and helps maintain a safe and nurturing environment for young learners. Candidates must have internet capabilities, including access to district-provided email. (Accommodations can be made if necessary.) The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required. Applicant must also meet the federal qualification standards: (1) At least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent (documentation required) (2) ParaPro test must meet or exceed Washington’s qualifying score of 455 a) Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics; or b) Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate; or (3) Completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher); or (4) Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree.
