Job Summary:
Colonial Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, a quaint eighty-bed ranch-style facility with a friendly homelike atmosphere located in the heart of Central New York, is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests. Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of foods to meet the dietary needs of our guests
Bake a range of rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies for special occasions and daily meals
Work on the tray line during meal service to ensure efficient execution
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety standards
Wash and sanitize pots and pans, as well as other kitchen equipment
Perform related duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen
Requirements:
Minimum one year of experience in large-scale cooking
Ability to manage the kitchen in the absence of the Food Service Director
Reliable transportation is a must
Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation
Ability to perform physical work and lift up to 50 pounds
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Excellent customer service and communication skills
