Dental Hygienist
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering comprehensive treatment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories and vital signs.
- Perform dental cleanings and scaling to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
- Take and interpret medical imaging as needed for diagnosis.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide care for pediatric patients, ensuring a comfortable experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry.
- Strong patient assessment skills to evaluate oral health effectively.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures within a dental office setting.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and practices.
- Ability to monitor and record vital signs accurately.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Experience or interest in working with pediatric patients is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to educate and interact with patients effectively.
