Adult Day Program Caregiver / Direct Care Worker

Forster Woods is hiring caring, dependable, and compassionate caregivers to join our Adult Day Services team.
Our day program provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for adults who may have physical or developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s or dementia, and other behavioral or support needs.
As a member of our team, you'll help participants stay active, engaged, and connected while providing the personal care and assistance they need throughout the day. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with people and wants to make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.
What You'll Do
Depending on the needs of the individuals attending the program, responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, toileting, and incontinence care
- Assisting with mobility, ambulation, and transfers
- Providing medication reminders and assistance as permitted
- Supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, disabilities, and behavioral needs
- Assisting with meals and feeding when needed
- Providing companionship, conversation, and social interaction
- Engaging participants in recreational, social, and meaningful activities
- Encouraging participation while respecting individual abilities, interests, and choices
- Assisting with community outings and activities
- Providing transportation as assigned
- Monitoring participants and maintaining a safe and supportive environment
- Encouraging independence while maintaining each participant's dignity and self-esteem
- Following individual care plans and documenting services as required
- Assisting with cleaning and maintaining program areas
- Other duties related to participant care and program operations
Requirements
We're looking for team members who are reliable, patient, respectful, and comfortable providing hands-on support to adults with a variety of needs.
Applicants must:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have reliable transportation
- Have a valid driver's license
- Maintain current auto insurance and vehicle registration
- Be able to pass required criminal background and driving record checks
- Demonstrate dependable attendance and communication
- Be comfortable providing hands-on personal care and assistance as required by individual participant needs
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Be available to work Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with required availability from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Previous caregiving experience is preferred but not required. Paid training is provided.
Experience as a caregiver, Direct Support Professional (DSP), direct care worker, home health aide, CNA, personal care assistant, activity aide, or in a similar role is a plus.
Schedule
This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday daytime schedule.
- Program staffing hours are between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- Employees must have availability during the program's core coverage hours of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Full-time and part-time opportunities are available
- No regularly scheduled evenings or overnight shifts
- Specific schedules and hours are based on program and participant needs
Pay & Benefits
- Starting pay: $17.13/hour
- $13.73/hour base wage
- $3.40/hour direct care premium
- Weekly pay with direct deposit
