Childcare Center Director
Full-Time | In-Person | Clark County
Pay: $25.00 – $29.00 per hour (DOE) + Performance based bonuses
Who We Are
We are a growing, licensed childcare center committed to providing exceptional early learning experiences grounded in trust, creativity, and excellence. Our work is built on strong relationships—with children, families, and our team—and on doing the fundamentals well, every single day.
Our culture is guided by five core values:
- Trust First – We build trust through reliability, transparency, and consistency
- Creative Thinking Every Day – In our classrooms and in how we solve problems
- Foundations Matter – Strong early learning experiences start with getting the basics right
- Elevate Through Excellence – Continuous improvement is not optional; it’s who we are
- Teamwork Is Our Superpower – We succeed together, or not at all
We are seeking a high-capacity, people-driven Childcare Center Director who believes leadership is both relational and accountable, and who wants to actively engage with children, families, and staff—not manage from behind a desk.
The Role
This position is ideal for an experienced leader who has run (or helped run) a larger, multi-classroom center, is confident managing systems and people, and genuinely enjoys being present in classrooms and with kids.
You will be responsible for the overall performance of the center—culture, compliance, enrollment, team development, and family experience—while modeling our values in action.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop teachers through clear expectations, accountability, and support
- Maintain a visible, engaged presence throughout the center, including regular time in classrooms
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with families through proactive communication and professionalism
- Ensure full compliance with DCYF and WAC licensing requirements, including ratios, safety, documentation, and staff training
- Oversee daily operations including scheduling, enrollment, staffing, and facility standards
- Partner with ownership to grow enrollment, strengthen programs, and continuously improve systems
- Foster a culture where teamwork, excellence, and reliability are the norm—not the exception
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet DCYF Director qualifications, including:
- Associate Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Washington State Stackable ECE Certificates (Initial, Short, & State)
- Current STARS training, CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Handler’s Card, and DCYF Portable Background Check
- Proven leadership experience in a licensed early learning center (larger or multi-room programs preferred)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A leadership mindset aligned with accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation based on education and experience
- Benefits including Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, and Paid Time Off
- Tuition reimbursement and ongoing professional development
- Real leadership growth opportunities as our organization expands
- A values-driven, results-focused culture that rewards ownership and excellence
Who Thrives Here
This role is best suited for someone who:
- Enjoys leading people, not just managing tasks
- Is energized by being around children and supporting classrooms
- Can balance warmth and professionalism with clear expectations
- Wants to build something meaningful and lasting
If you’re ready to lead with purpose, build trust, elevate standards, and make a real impact on children, families, and staff—we’d love to hear from you.
