Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. The ideal candidate will support daily food production, assist with baking and decorating baked goods, and ensure high standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Assist in food preparation including mixing, baking, and assembling baked goods such as cookies, pastries, and bread
- Support pastry decorating and pastry presentation to meet aesthetic standards
- Package baked items efficiently for retail or catering purposes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations in accordance with food safety protocols
- Handle food safely during preparation, storage, and transportation
- Support high-volume production processes during peak times
- Assist with catering orders and special event setups as needed
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards before packaging or serving
- Follow recipes accurately and adhere to food safety management practices
Skills
- Experience in food production, baking, or pastry arts preferred
- Knowledge of pastry decorating techniques and pastry presentation
- Strong food handling and safety skills in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with packaging techniques for baked goods
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food preparation methods
- Experience in high-volume production environments is a plus
- Customer service skills for interacting with clients or customers when necessary
- Culinary experience within the food industry or restaurant experience is advantageous
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
