Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing exceptional patient care within a busy optometry clinic. This role involves supporting clinical operations, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and facilitating smooth patient flow through various pre examination procedures. The Optometric Technician will play a vital role in enhancing patient experiences and supporting the clinical team. Pay based on experience.
Duties
- Greet patients and assist with intake processes, including collecting medical history
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary tests and assessments using specialized equipment
- Assist with optical measurements and lensometry to support accurate prescriptions
- Maintain patient records accurately within electronic health records (EHR) platforms
- Ensure aseptic technique during procedures to maintain a sterile environment
- Collaborate with Optometrists to ensure efficient clinic flow and high-quality patient care
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical office settings, ophthalmology, or optometry clinics preferred
- Experience with EHR systems is highly desirable
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
- Ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced healthcare setting
