Job Opening: Diesel Mechanic – Trucking Company
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our growing trucking company. The ideal candidate will have experience in truck and trailer maintenance and repair. A valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on company trucks and trailers.
- Conduct pre-lease inspections and preparations to ensure all leased-out trucks meet safety and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Handle routine tire and brake maintenance, including replacements and adjustments.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs performed.
- Ensure all repairs comply with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Collaborate with dispatchers, drivers, and fleet managers to schedule and prioritize maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a diesel mechanic or in a similar role (truck and trailer maintenance required).
- CDL is highly preferred and may be required for certain job functions.
- Strong understanding of truck systems, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and suspension.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment efficiently and safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
