Job Overview
The Events & Store Operations Lead is a dynamic leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Farm Store while coordinating and managing private events hosted at Plumper Farms. This role requires someone who can confidently balance multiple priorities, lead a team, and provide exceptional customer service in both a retail and event setting.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and enjoys interacting with people. Success in this role depends on the ability to seamlessly transition between managing store operations and coordinating events—from responding to client inquiries and preparing invoices to hosting events and ensuring every guest has exceptional experience.
Event Coordination Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for private event clients from initial inquiry through event completion.
- Respond promptly to client emails and phone calls.
- Prepare quotes, contracts, invoices, and collect payments.
- Coordinate event logistics, timelines, and special requests.
- Conduct client walkthroughs and answer questions throughout the planning process.
- Prepare event spaces before each event and ensure all requested items are in place.
- Host private events on-site, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues as they arise.
- Work closely with farm staff to ensure events run smoothly from setup through cleanup.
Store Operations Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the Farm Store and lead the cashier team.
- Ensure excellent customer service for all guests.
- Train, coach, and support store staff.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked sales areas.
- Create attractive merchandise displays and ensure products are properly priced.
- Manage inventory, restocking, and seasonal store transitions.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure the store is cleaned, stocked, and prepared for the following business day.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Previous leadership experience in retail, hospitality, or event coordination preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems (Square experience is a plus).
- Comfortable supervising a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, professional, and confident when working directly with clients.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Availability
- Seasonal position running from early September through the end of October (approximately 8 weeks).
- Preferred start date of August 28 for training.
- Full availability required Wednesday through Sunday.
- Weekend availability is non-negotiable.
- Typical schedule consists of 8+ hour shifts totaling 35+ hours per week.

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
