Job Overview
Hatley Pointe is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and versatile Mountain Operations Machine Operator to support year-round resort operations. This position plays a key role and is not solely an equipment operator position. Successful candidates will assist with all aspects of Mountain Operations throughout the year, including snowmaking, lift operations support, grounds maintenance, construction projects, property improvements, and general resort operations. The ability to safely and effectively operate heavy equipment is required to support ongoing maintenance, construction, and infrastructure projects as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Operations
Safely operate various pieces of equipment including:
- Skid steers
- Tractors
- Excavators
- UTVs and utility vehicles
- Snowmaking equipment
- Snow removal equipment
- Grooming equipment (as trained)
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and operational readiness.
Mountain Operations
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, trail maintenance, construction projects, and mountain improvements.
- Support snowmaking operations during winter months.
- Assist with snow removal and de-icing efforts.
- Perform mowing, brush cutting, weed eating, and vegetation management.
- Assist with lift area maintenance and operational support.
- Support resort opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous equipment operation experience preferred.
- Experience operating skid steers, tractors, excavators, or similar equipment preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong work ethic and attention to safety.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Previous ski resort, construction, landscaping, farming, or heavy equipment experience preferred.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
