The Joel Lane Museum House is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual with a bachelor’s degree and experience in database management and/or direct customer service, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with PastPerfect is a plus. Must be able to commit to at least 20 hours a week of accurate data entry of confidential donor records, generating correspondence, running reports, mail merges, assisting with the museum store, working with volunteers, and backing up the Director as needed. Also required to attend and assist with special events including fundraisers, Christmas Open House the first Saturday in December, Independence Day Open House on July 4, and other programming such a field trips as needed.
This role will begin as a part-time position, approximately 20 to 30 hours per week. After a probationary training period, this may become a full-time, salaried position.
The Joel Lane Museum House is a historic house museum, interpreting the oldest extant dwelling in Wake County and Raleigh. We offer excellent, accurate historical programming, delivered by costumed guides in period dress, with a focus on engaging, personal storytelling. Tours include the 1769 House, a circa-1790 middle-class home (interpreted as a Kitchen), and formal and herb gardens.
