Lead Handyman Technician
Local Handyman Nashville-Brentwood
We believe homeowners deserve more than repairs — and so do the people doing the work.
Local Handyman is launching in Nashville and Brentwood, and we're looking for our first Lead Technician: the person who sets the standard, mentors the crew, and shows this market what professional home service actually looks like.
If you've been piecing together cash jobs, chasing 1099 work orders, bouncing between construction sites that lay you off when the weather turns, or driving your own truck into the ground with no guaranteed paycheck — this is the job you've been waiting for.
Guaranteed 40 hours. A company truck. Real benefits. Daytime hours. And a seat at the table as we build this business from day one.
What You'll Do
- Perform high-quality residential repairs and improvements — drywall, carpentry, painting, doors and windows, fixtures, minor plumbing and electrical
- Serve as the technical standard-setter for the Nashville–Brentwood team
- Scope and estimate jobs accurately in customers' homes
- Mentor and support technicians as we grow the crew
- Communicate clearly with homeowners, property managers, and tenants
- Document your work — before-and-after photos, notes, materials
- Represent Local Handyman with professionalism in every home you enter
What Success Looks Like
In your first 90 days, you'll know our services and pricing well enough to walk into any home and scope the job with confidence. Customers will ask for you by name. And when we add our next technician, you'll be the one showing them how we do things.
Within a year, you're the person this market associates with Local Handyman — the reason property managers stop calling anyone else.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate has:
- Deep hands-on ability across multiple trades — someone who can solve an unfamiliar problem in a customer's home without calling for help
- Experience leading, mentoring, or setting the pace for other technicians
- A customer-friendly, professional demeanor — comfortable in occupied homes
- Pride in workmanship and the instinct to leave a home better than they found it
- Reliability — the kind of person who shows up when they say they will
- Ability to work within established systems and expectations
Requirements
- 3+ years of handyman, carpentry, remodeling, construction, or skilled trade experience
- Strong general repair ability across multiple trades
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record (you'll be driving a company vehicle)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical work safely
- Comfort working in occupied residential homes
- Comfort with smartphone-based scheduling and job-management software
Why Join Local Handyman Nashville–Brentwood?
- [$28 – $32 per hour to start] based on skills and experience
- Guaranteed 40 hours every week — a full, stable paycheck you can plan your life around
- Company vehicle provided — stop putting miles and wear on your own truck
- Paid time off plus company holidays
- Medical and dental eligibility after 90 days
- Daytime hours — no nights, no shift work, no weekend emergencies as a way of life
- Steady work — we provide the jobs and the schedule
- Ground-floor opportunity — as we grow across territories, the people who built this become the ones who lead it
- A culture built on trust, craftsmanship, and customer care
