The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources expertise, assisting in providing a wide range of HR support and advice. The Human Resource Generalist will play a key role by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and human resources best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
- Provides day-to-day benefits administration services. Assist employees with any claim issues.
- Develops and schedules benefits orientations and other benefits training.
- Assists with administration of the 401(k) program.
- Administers disability and worker's compensation claims.
- Assists with administration of FMLA leave.
- Assist employees with questions relating to benefits, vacation time, timecards, payroll, etc.
- Assists with the production of reports to reconcile benefits and payroll deductions.
- Collaborates in the recommendation of HR for changes in benefits offered, especially
new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
- Ensure the processing of benefits in HRIS system and the enrollment of employee into the different benefit carriers are accurate and timely
- Assists in hiring process by coordinating job posting on the website, reviewing resumes, and conducts reference checks.
- Prepares new-hire paperwork and initiates new hire on-boarding procedures.
- Complies with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting
requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO),
the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act(FMLA),
Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker
compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and so forth. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
- Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, garnishments, benefits and other personnel paperwork is accurate and timely
- Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs. Tracks OSHA- required data and files reports.
- Assist employees with questions relating to payroll, benefits, vacation time, timecards, etc.
- Provide support for the time entry system as needed.
- Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
- Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, and employee satisfaction surveys.
- Helps to monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the
company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.
- Assists with the company-wide committees including the wellness, training,
environmental health and safety, activity, and culture and communications committees.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Assists to establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals.
- Maintains employee-related databases specific to benefits administration, training, and recruiting. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
- Fully utilizes Human Resources software (HRIS) to the company's advantage.
- Assists with the establishment of an in-house employee training system that addresses the company's training needs including training needs assessment, new employee orientation or onboarding, management development, production cross-training, the measurement of training impact, and training transfer.
- Assists with the maintenance of employee training records.
- Assists with the development of Human Resources policies for the company with regard to employee relations.
- Partners with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
- Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer- employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
- Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
- Assists in the counseling of managers on employment issues.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Five or more years’ experience in Human Resources;
- Associate degree in Human Resources Management, Healthcare Management, or related discipline (Bachelor’s degree preferred);
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
