Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
- Support menu planning and ensure adherence to recipes, portion control, and food safety regulations.
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Assist with inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices.
- Assist with shift management duties such as scheduling, delegating tasks, and ensuring smooth operational flow during busy periods.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all kitchen activities, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Collaborate with the catering to coordinate special events and large-scale food production needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, kitchen management, or restaurant experience with a focus on fine dining or hospitality environments.
- Demonstrated supervising experience with strong leadership skills in managing diverse teams.
- Knowledge of dietary department protocols, food safety regulations, and inventory management practices.
- Hands-on experience in food preparation, catering, menu planning, and shift management within the food industry.
- Familiarity with culinary techniques such as cooking methods, food handling procedures, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively lead staff and coordinate with other departments such as service or event planning.
