Position Summary
Precision Build Solutions is seeking an experienced CNC Plasma & Flame Cutting Programmer to join the Pre-Fabrication team. This position is responsible for creating programs for CNC plasma and flame-cutting machines using part nesting software to accurately and efficiently process steel components.
The ideal candidate has experience in a steel manufacturing environment, strong computer and mechanical skills, and the ability to read technical drawings and troubleshoot CNC equipment and programming issues.
Pay & Employment
- Pay: $18–$26 per hour, based on experience and skill level
- Employment: Full-Time
- Pay Schedule: Weekly, every Friday
- The position will continue to grow and evolve as the Pre-Fabrication department expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Create programs for CNC plasma and flame-cutting machines using part nesting software.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production specifications.
- Use computer software to create and optimize machine cutting paths.
- Assist with machine setup based on blueprints and programmed requirements.
- Program and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure parts meet design specifications.
- Adjust machine cutting paths, speeds, settings, and other parameters to improve production efficiency while maintaining quality.
- Determine appropriate cutting tools and processes based on material and job requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CNC programming, machine, and production issues.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary.
- Work closely with the Pre-Fabrication team, Operations, and Burn Table Foreman.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of previous experience in a steel manufacturing environment preferred/required.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine or programming problems.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions accurately.
- Ability to work effectively in a shop/manufacturing environment.

Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

Teamwork & Communication
Teamwork is an important part of this position. The CNC Programmer will work closely with the Pre-Fabrication Manager, Operations Team, Burn Table Foreman, machine operators, and other departments.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with coworkers, supervisors, managers, and other departments while actively supporting the company's safety culture.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a mechanically minded CNC programmer who enjoys working with both computers and industrial equipment. You should be comfortable taking a technical drawing, creating an efficient cutting program, and troubleshooting issues on the production floor.
Candidates with experience in steel fabrication, CNC plasma/flame cutting, nesting software, or automated manufacturing equipment are encouraged to apply.
