Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and standards, with the ability to work on various projects that require precision and attention to detail. This role involves fabricating and assembling metal structures, ensuring that all work meets industry codes and standards.
Duties
- Perform welding tasks using various methods including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications
- Fit and assemble metal components accurately according to specifications
- Operate machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutting equipment
- Utilize hand tools and measuring instruments like micrometers for precise measurements
- Conduct quality checks on completed welds to ensure compliance with codes and standards
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols
- PEMB or Steel Fabrication Experience
- Able to Pass a Welding test and have the Welding Certificates.
Skills
- Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick)
- Strong knowledge of welding codes and industry standards
- Experience with machining processes is a plus
- Familiarity with rigging practices for lifting heavy materials using cranes
- Ability to operate plasma cutting equipment effectively is a plus
- Competent in using hand tools for assembly and fabrication tasks
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamwork abilities, with a commitment to safety in the workplace
