Job Summary
We are a privately owned general practive seeking a full time dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our amazing dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive measures.
- Assist with front desk duties when needed, including answering phones, scheduling appointments and greeting patients.
- Ensure the clinic is clean, organized, and follows all safety protocols related to infection control.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a dental assistant program.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques is essential.
- X-ray certification required
- Experience in a dental office; familiarity with Dentrix is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in medical documentation practices and understanding of HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory.
