Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, suspension, steering, brakes, and electrical components.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and fluid replacements.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical problems effectively.
- Repair or replace vehicle components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools.
- Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure optimal performance post-service.
- Document all repairs thoroughly in accordance with dealership or shop procedures and communicate findings clearly to customers.
Skills
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- Expertise in ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and diagnosis.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics software and interpreting schematics for electrical systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including engine repair, transmission systems, vehicle suspension system repair, and alignment.
- Skilled in automotive wiring diagram interpretation and electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with GM vehicles or similar brands is preferred; diesel engine repair skills are a plus.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service tools safely and effectively.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of auto estimating processes for repairs and parts ordering.
- Familiarity with automotive safety standards and maintenance best practices.
