The Senior Director, Jewish Engagement and Care Service is the senior professional responsible for providing vision and leadership for Jewish culture and community at the JCC Mid-Westchester. This person will ensure all Jewish programming is inclusive and accessible for anyone interested in engaging in Jewish life at the JCCMW.
Over the past several years, Jewish programming at the JCC has flourished, with a new and expanded portfolio of engagement opportunities offered to the community. Reporting into this position is a committed team of professionals that plan and support a dynamic array of programs, classes, support groups, social service offerings, and events.
The Senior Director, Jewish Engagement and Care Services will report into and collaborate with the CEO to set the vision for Jewish Engagement and Care Services for the organization. They will work with colleagues across the organization to infuse Jewish Life and values into programmatic areas across the JCCMW.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team responsible for 200+ annual Jewish programming offerings - classes, workshops, special events and more.
- Develop new and innovative concepts for Jewish engagement and work with the development team to strengthen and create new funding sources for these efforts.
- Serve as primary staff liaison to all Jewish organizations in Westchester – from synagogues to day schools to cultural organizations. Represent the JCCMW at organizational events for these agencies, as appropriate.
- Serve as the Interfaith point person for the many organizations that the JCCMW partners with that serve to strengthen relationships across different faiths and communities.
- Supervise Care Services at the JCCMW, inclusive of a variety of social service and support opportunities (caregiver and bereavement groups, isolation to connection programs, etc.)
- Provide internal staff resources and educational opportunities to further strengthen and celebrate a deeper understanding of Jewish holidays, language, and cultural experiences for colleagues of all backgrounds.
- Oversight of budget for entire portfolio of programs.
Experience and Background:
- A strong candidate will bring a minimum of 7 years of proven success in a non-profit leadership position focused on Jewish learning, community building, programming and engagement.
- You are someone who understands that relationships are the key to building a meaningful community and have strong interpersonal skills that can be applied to individuals, small gatherings, and large-scale group settings.
- High level executive functioning skills are the key to success, in that there is always something interesting and exciting underway. The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously is critical.
- A background in Jewish education and/or programming is key, though the specific type of training (rabbinic, educator, etc.) is flexible.
This is a full time, in person role. The JCCMW is open 100 hours/week and while this role is primarily a Monday-Friday position, flexibility is needed for some evening and weekend work throughout the year. This person must be comfortable occasionally working at the JCCMW on Shabbat, if needed. Compensation for this role is $120,000-$130,000.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include movement within an office environment. The role requires the ability to write by hand and use a keyboard to perform general office functions. Also requires the ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Visual acuity is needed for detailed work, and computer use. The ability to sit for extended periods of time is also a requirement.
