Auto Parts Cashier
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bilingual Auto Parts Cashier. This full-time position entails overseeing cash handling operations, providing exceptional customer service, and utilizing automotive parts knowledge to accurately identify parts being bought. Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with our diverse customer base.
Responsibilities:
Cash Handling and Transaction Processing:
- Manage cash handling procedures, including opening and closing the store, maintaining cash drawers, and processing transactions accurately.
- Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems to process sales transactions, refunds, and exchanges efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with cash handling policies and security protocols to safeguard store funds.
Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, assisting with inquiries, purchases, and returns.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Communicate fluently in both Spanish and English to accommodate diverse customer needs.
Automotive Parts Knowledge:
- Recognize and differentiate various car parts being purchased to accurately determine pricing.
- Utilize automotive parts knowledge to provide accurate pricing information and ensure transparency in transactions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or cashiering; automotive retail experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, vehicle systems, and parts compatibility.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash transactions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including disassembling and handling tires, loading and unloading merchandise, and moving automotive parts.
- Ability to safely handle and transport automotive batteries while following all company safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
- Comfortable working in a physically active environment that may include bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and repetitive movements.
Part-Time Schedule
This is a part-time position with a regular schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Our store is open Sunday through Saturday, and shifts are scheduled during the following operating hours based on the season:
- Spring, Summer, and Fall: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
- Winter: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Shift times will vary based on business needs and may include opening, mid-day, or closing shifts.
