Join our compassionate team as a Home Health Aide, providing vital support to individuals in their homes and assisted living environments. This role offers flexible hours from 9 am to 11 pm, with shifts typically lasting around two hours, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while maintaining a balanced schedule. As a Home Health Aide, you will be the cornerstone of personalized patient care, helping clients maintain independence and comfort in their daily routines.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting changes promptly
- Support medication administration and ensure proper documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or developmental disabilities
- Assist with meal preparation, light cleaning, laundry, and household tasks to promote a safe living environment
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or catheters safely and according to protocols
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills with the ability to recognize changes in condition or behavior
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to home health care settings
- Ability to assist with complex care needs such as hospice care, memory care, or working with individuals with disabilities
- CPR certification and understanding of emergency response procedures
- Competence in caring for patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease through specialized memory care techniques
- Experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks including catheter care, hospice support, and use of mobility aids like Hoyer lifts
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to patient safety and comfort
