We are looking for a reliable, motivated full-time Maintenance Assistant to help maintain our community mental health facilities, including outpatient clinics (2) and residential treatment programs (3). Position is located at residential and outpatient offices in Miami Beach, North Miami, and North Miami Beach.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with limited after hours or weekend work required.
What You'll Do:
- Perform routine building maintenance and repairs.
- Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance tasks.
- Assist with apartment turnovers, including cleaning, painting, and preparing units for new resident.
- Conduct preventive maintenance according to schedule.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Travel between agency locations to perform maintenance and repair work.
- Maintain clean, safe, and functional facilities for clients, residents, visitors, and staff.
- Assist with facility improvements, furniture moving/building, and other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a similar general maintenance position.
- Valid Florida driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to travel between agency worksites.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
- Ability to receive and carry out daily work assignments and priorities as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Executive Team member.
- Must pass a Level 2 background check and drug screening.
Skills:
- General building maintenance, minor repairs, and painting required.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry preferred.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify maintenance and safety concerns.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
