Shift Supervisor – Battle Born Dispensary
Position Summary
The Shift Supervisor is a leadership position responsible for overseeing daily dispensary operations, supporting the management team, and ensuring exceptional customer service, compliance, and team performance.
A successful Shift Supervisor leads by example, holds themselves and others accountable, communicates effectively, and maintains a positive, solutions-focused attitude. This role is expected to support all areas of dispensary operations, coach team members in real time, and ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
The Shift Supervisor serves as the acting manager on duty when management is not present and is expected to make sound operational decisions while maintaining compliance with all state regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities, Leadership & Team Development
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and work ethic.
- Coach, train, and motivate Patient Specialists throughout each shift.
- Provide real-time feedback and performance coaching.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members.
- Maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Address employee concerns and communicate performance issues to management.
- Assist management in enforcing company policies, procedures, and operational expectations.
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service and patient experiences.
- Support Patient Specialists with product recommendations and customer interactions.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure all customer interactions align with Battle Born Dispensary standards.
Compliance & Operations
- Ensure compliance with all Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board regulations and company policies.
- Verify all required identification, documentation, and visitor logs.
- Maintain accuracy in Dutchie POS and state verification systems.
- Monitor sales floor operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Participate in opening and closing procedures.
- Complete manager communications and shift reports as required.
- Maintain security protocols and safety standards at all times.
Inventory & Cash Handling
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment with inventory staff.
- Verify deliveries and transfers for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Perform cash drops, drawer audits, ATM exchanges, and related cash management tasks.
- Report discrepancies immediately to management.
Operational Expectations
- Complete and delegate shift tasks effectively.
- Maintain strong communication with management, inventory, and sales teams.
- Assist in all areas of the dispensary when business needs require.
- Support company initiatives, promotions, and operational changes with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of cannabis industry experience required.
- Minimum 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or management experience in a retail environment.
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling required.
- Inventory control experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license or state-issued identification.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Nevada Cannabis Agent Card.
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with standard office software and computer systems.
Scheduling Requirements
- Full-time position.
- Must have open availability, including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
- Must be willing and able to both open and close the dispensary.
- Shift Supervisors are expected to work a minimum of one weekend shift and one closing shift each week unless otherwise approved by management.
- Reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, bend, reach, and move throughout the dispensary.
