Shipping & Receiving Manager
Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily shipping, receiving, and material flow operations within a production/manufacturing environment. This position ensures materials, components, and finished products are received, stored, staged, and shipped accurately and efficiently while supporting production schedules and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations in a production environment.
- Manage the flow of raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to support production schedules and customer requirements.
- Supervise, train, and develop shipping and receiving personnel.
- Schedule and assign daily work to ensure efficient department operations.
- Ensure shipments are accurately picked, packaged, labeled, documented, and loaded.
- Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and production requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely material flow.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory accuracy and cycle counts.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records within ERP/WMS systems.
- Coordinate freight, carriers, pickups, and deliveries as needed.
- Investigate and resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, and material discrepancies.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials and finished products.
- Monitor department performance, productivity, and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with production planning and prioritization when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or material management within a manufacturing/production environment.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
- Experience working with ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, purchase orders, and production requirements.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments.
- Forklift experience/certification preferred.

Work Environment
This position is primarily located in a manufacturing/production facility and may require extended periods of standing, walking, and working around production and warehouse equipment. The manager may be required to work flexible hours based on production and shipping schedules.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
