Quoting Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quoting Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This position plays an important role in developing accurate and competitive customer quotes while coordinating closely with purchasing, production, and management.
The ideal candidate has experience working with Bills of Material (BOMs), electronic components, vendor pricing, purchasing, or manufacturing quoting and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, communication, and problem-solving are critical.
What You'll Do
- Prepare material quotes and perform detailed Bill of Material (BOM) reviews and scrubbing.
- Research and verify vendor pricing, availability, and component information.
- Maintain communication with suppliers and vendors regarding pricing and material requirements.
- Work closely with purchasing to help identify and resolve potential material or shipment delays.
- Prepare customer quote proposals based on specifications, purchase orders, pricing, and Terms & Conditions.
- Generate required post-sales documentation and paperwork.
- Review customer requirements to ensure quotes accurately reflect specifications and expectations.
- Communicate project status, planning changes, unexpected issues, and critical information to production personnel.
- Coordinate with purchasing, production, management, and other internal departments to ensure job requirements are met.
- Identify causes of delays and recommend solutions to keep projects moving forward.
- Assist with implementation and support of the company's Quality Management System.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school or related experience/training; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Experience with manufacturing quoting, estimating, purchasing, BOMs, electronic components, or related functions preferred.
- Solid knowledge of electronic parts and electronic component vendors.
- Strong mathematical skills, including percentages, proportions, discounts, and basic algebra.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, procedures, purchase orders, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, production teams, and management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with JobBOSS is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively when timelines or project requirements change.
