Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical systems related to HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and building automation systems. Your expertise will ensure optimal indoor climate control and mechanical system performance across various property types. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and building automation system diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in wiring or components.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure efficiency and longevity.
- Repair plumbing and mechanical systems, including welding and equipment repair tasks as needed.
- Diagnose complex mechanical problems using mechanical knowledge and field service techniques; implement effective solutions promptly.
- Comply with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining certification standards.
- Operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle safely for transportation between job sites.
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to support building operations and system upgrades.
- Utilize building automation systems to optimize HVAC performance and energy efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or service technician roles within HVAC or related mechanical fields.
- Strong understanding of schematics, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and HVAC design principles.
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, boiler operation, welding, plumbing, and general property maintenance.
- Certification in EPA refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications such as HVAC/R licenses or boiler operator licenses are highly desirable.
- Experience working with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls is a plus.
- Ability to read technical diagrams accurately and utilize diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively.
- Mechanical or technical schooling background preferred; mechanic experience is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in field service environments.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for operating company vehicles safely.
