Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Técnico(a) de Record Médico - Codificación to join our team. As a Técnico(a) de Record Médico - Codificación, you will be responsible for analyzing medical records and assigning appropriate codes for billing and reimbursement purposes. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze medical records to identify diagnoses, procedures, and treatments
- Assign appropriate codes to medical records for billing and reimbursement purposes
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct outbound calls to obtain missing or incomplete information
- Demonstrate phone etiquette when communicating with patients, providers, and insurance companies
- Contribute to sales efforts by promoting coding services to potential clients
Requirements:
- Proficiency in analyzing medical records and assigning accurate codes
- Multilingual skills, with fluency in both Spanish and English preferred
- Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Experience in outbound calling is a plus
- Knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations (e.g., ICD-10, CPT)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
