We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and service-oriented General Maintenance Technician to join our hotel operations team. The ideal candidate will have experience in hotel or facilities maintenance and possess knowledge in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and preventive maintenance. This position plays an important role in maintaining the hotel’s facilities, guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house operations, and overall guest experience by ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for guests and employees.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel property, including guest rooms, public areas, offices, restaurants, kitchens, and back-of-house facilities.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment, lighting, and mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest service calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using appropriate tools and testing equipment, including an ohmmeter.
- Perform painting, patching, carpentry, minor fabrication, and general repair work as needed.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using the hotel’s maintenance tracking or CMMS system.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and operational deficiencies.
- Assist with setup and maintenance support for hotel events, banquets, and operational functions.
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards, fire/life safety procedures, and company policies.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, Security, Engineering, and other departments to minimize disruption to hotel operations and guest experience.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, supplies, and maintenance materials.
- Support emergency response efforts related to facility or equipment issues when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, painting, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair maintenance-related issues efficiently and safely.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems preferred.
- Ability to read and understand technical schematics and manuals.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Must have flexible availability and be able to work B Shift (afternoon shift) and C Shift (graveyard/overnight shift) schedules based on operational needs, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins.
- Basic knowledge of safety practices and OSHA standards preferred.
- Physical ability to lift, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and perform hands-on maintenance work.

- HVAC Certification
- EPA Certification
- Trade school or vocational training in maintenance or engineering is a plus
