Job Summary
Canvas Co. is the vendor-assist and product execution division of Spirit Jersey®, supporting partners across licensed, private-label, resort, entertainment, and specialty retail channels. The Product Developer is responsible for end-to-end ownership of product development and supply chain execution, translating partner vision into high-quality, scalable products delivered on time and on cost.
This role serves as the central point of accountability across product development, global sourcing, and vendor execution, ensuring alignment between partners, internal teams, and manufacturing across a diverse international supply base.
Duties and Responsibilities:
While the primary responsibilities of this role, as detailed below, are specific to Canvas Co., the Product Developer may be required to support Spirit Jersey projects, initiatives, and cross-functional efforts, on an as needed basis, in coordination with leadership. This is especially important during the ramp-up phase of the Canvas Co. division.
Product Development Ownership
- Own the full product development lifecycle for Canvas Co., from concept through production readiness.
- Establish and manage development calendars, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure all products meet quality, construction, and performance standards.
- Partner closely with Design, Production, and Operations to align execution.
Global Supply Chain & Vendor Management
- Own all supply chain and vendor relationships supporting Canvas Co.
- Manage a diverse manufacturing and sourcing portfolio across multiple countries and regions.
- Negotiate development timelines, capabilities, and execution standards with vendors.
- Ensure vendor performance meets cost, quality, compliance, and delivery expectations.
- Identify and onboard new vendors as needed to support innovation, capacity, and risk mitigation.
Partner & Account Collaboration
- Serve as the primary product development and execution lead for Canvas Co. partners.
- Translate partner briefs and concepts into executable development and sourcing strategies.
- Present samples, timelines, and recommendations to partners.
- Balance partner needs with high standards, margins, and operational realities.
Sampling, Execution & Quality
- Oversee all sampling, proto, and development sample processes.
- Resolve fit, construction, fabrication, and execution issues across vendors and factories.
- Approve samples and manage iteration cycles efficiently.
- Ensure all products meet required quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Process, Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Establish clear, scalable product development and supply chain processes.
- Lead and mentor all resources supporting Canvas Co.
- Drive continuous improvement in speed, communication, and execution.
- Maintain clear documentation and visibility across programs.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in apparel product development and global supply chain management.
- Proven ownership of development and vendor execution across multiple countries.
- Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, construction, costing, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working directly with international factories and sourcing partners.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple programs and partners simultaneously.
- High standards for quality, accountability, and execution.
Salary Range
$USD annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
